SPRUG was created for a few reasons, but the name itself came from making fun of the toolbox system known as GURPS by Steve Jackson Games. GURPS by its nature is a game about everything, depending on the books, home brew, and other side content. A SPRUG being bizarro GURPS, is many systems about one thing.

Which is a fancy way of saying, a game that does one thing and one thing alone. Many of the games I write have taken on the ability to accommodate multiple kinds of stories. I also encourage the production of other SPRUG's as one could reasonably assume that any kind of homebrew game is a SPRUG at its core. The SPRUG workshop isn't just my personal game's, it's anyone's.
